Parfums de Marly Althair Inspired Attar

Flora Five's Parfums de Marly Althair inspired attar for men is an alcohol-free, oil-based interpretation of the regal vanilla character of Parfums de Marly Althaïr. Cinnamon, cardamom, orange blossom and bergamot gild the opening, bourbon vanilla and elemi fill the heart, and a base of praline, candied almond, guaiac wood, tonka and musk glows for roughly 6–8 hours on skin.

Parfums de Marly Althair inspired attar: fragrance notes

• Top: Cinnamon, Cardamom, Orange Blossom, Bergamot
• Heart: Bourbon Vanilla, Elemi
• Base: Praline, Musk, Ambroxan, Guaiac Wood, Tonka Bean, Candied Almond

How it compares. Our attar captures the recognisable Althaïr accord — spiced golden vanilla with that candied-almond richness. Because it's a concentrated oil with no alcohol, the opening is softer (no spray "blast"), it develops more slowly, sits closer to the skin, and lasts noticeably longer than an alcohol spray.

This is an alcohol-free oil, so wear it the attar way: a short roll on each wrist, one at the hollow of the throat, and let the warmth of your skin do the developing — the vanilla gets rounder the longer it sits. Oils can tint light fabrics, so apply before dressing.

Frequently asked questions

What does it smell like?
Vanilla treated like a precious material. The spices — cinnamon, cardamom, a squeeze of bergamot — keep the opening lively, but from the heart onward this is bourbon vanilla deepened with elemi resin and dressed in praline, candied almond and smoky guaiac wood. Sweet, yes, but polished rather than sugary.

How long does it last?
Expect roughly 6–8 hours on skin. Gourmand vanillas cling well in oil form; the spiced brightness fades within the first couple of hours while the praline-vanilla-wood base holds steadily through an evening and still whispers the next morning on fabric it touched.

How is Flora Five's version different from the original Althaïr?
Althaïr is an alcohol-based eau de parfum with a big, diffusive vanilla cloud. Our oil version trades that cloud for a closer, denser wear — a softer start, a slower unfolding, and longer total life on skin. It follows the scent's character but contains none of the original's materials.

Which size should I choose — 3, 6 or 12 ml?
Sweet, spicy vanillas are seasonal for most people, so the 3 ml is a smart winter trial. Choose the 6 ml if it'll be your cold-weather evening staple, and the 12 ml if you already know rich vanillas are your signature year-round.
