Flora Five's Dunhill Black attar is an alcohol-free, oil-based take on the shadowy, well-tailored character of Dunhill Black by Alfred Dunhill. A green sting of nettle opens the blend, lavender and jasmine smooth out the heart, and suede, guaiac wood and Virginia cedar settle into a dark, velvety drydown that keeps you company for roughly 10–12 hours on skin.

How it compares. Our attar captures the recognisable Dunhill Black accord — cool aromatic lavender sliding into supple suede, like a midnight-black suit in scent form. Because it's a concentrated oil with no alcohol, the opening is softer (no spray “blast”), it develops more slowly, sits closer to the skin, and lasts noticeably longer than an alcohol spray.
With zero alcohol in the formula it qualifies as halal and will not sting freshly shaved skin. Trace the rollerball along your wrists, throat and behind the ears, and let your warmth coax the suede forward through the day. Best kept off white collars — concentrated oils can leave a faint shadow on pale cloth.

Frequently asked questions
What does Dunhill Black attar smell like?
Dark, smooth and understated. The unusual nettle note gives a bitter-green flash up top, lavender and jasmine bring a barbershop polish to the middle, and the drydown is all soft suede and dry woods. It reads masculine and composed — more dimmed lamplight than loud cologne.
How long does it last?
Roughly 10–12 hours on skin. The green opening is brief, the aromatic heart carries the first few hours, and the suede-wood base lingers quietly until late evening. On cuffs and collars it can persist even longer, so a little restraint goes far.
How is Flora Five's version different from the original Dunhill Black?
The original eau de toilette leads with a cold, diffusive aromatic burst that thins out by mid-afternoon. Our concentrated oil trades that burst for a gentler arrival, a closer, more intimate sillage, and a suede drydown that comfortably outlasts the spray's lifespan on skin.
Which size should I choose — 3, 6 or 12 ml?
The 3 ml is a low-risk way to see how the suede sits on your skin, 6 ml suits a workweek rotation, and 12 ml makes sense once it becomes your default dark aromatic — per millilitre, the big bottle is the smart buy.
