Flora Five's Myrrh & Tonka attar is an alcohol-free, oil-based interpretation of the warm, resin-and-almond richness of Jo Malone London's Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense. A brush of lavender opens onto honeyed omumbiri myrrh at the heart, and the base pours in tonka bean, vanilla and almond — a sweet amber glow lasting roughly 12–16 hours on skin.

How it compares. Our attar captures the recognisable Myrrh & Tonka accord — that boozy-sweet handshake between smoky resin and almond-vanilla warmth. Because it's a concentrated oil with no alcohol, the opening is softer (no spray “blast”), it develops more slowly, sits closer to the skin, and lasts noticeably longer than an alcohol spray.
No alcohol touches this formula, which keeps it halal and stops the resins from smelling harsh in the opening. Warm it on pulse points — wrists, throat, behind the ears — and let body heat melt the myrrh and tonka together over the first hour. Keep the roller away from white fabric; amber oils are the likeliest to mark.

Frequently asked questions
What does Myrrh & Tonka attar smell like?
Sweet resin over almond warmth. The myrrh here is not churchy or austere — omumbiri, the Namibian myrrh, reads honeyed and lightly smoky — and it rests on a base of tonka bean, vanilla and almond that feels like dessert served beside a fire. The lavender at the top is a brief, cool counterpoint before the warmth takes over.
How long does it last?
This is one of the longest wearers in our range: roughly 12–16 hours on skin, with strong projection for the first 6–8. Amber-resin oils bond tightly with skin and even better with fabric — expect to find it on a jacket collar days later. In Indian winters it truly comes into its own.
How is Flora Five's version different from the original Myrrh & Tonka?
The original is an alcohol-based Cologne Intense; ours is a concentrated perfume oil. That changes the experience more than the smell: our opening is gentler because there is no alcohol lift, the myrrh-tonka heart arrives sooner and stays hours longer, and the whole scent wears closer to the body — with roll-on precision instead of a spray cloud, at a very different price.
Which size should I choose — 3, 6 or 12 ml?
Rich ambers go a long way, so even the 3 ml outlasts what its size suggests — one swipe is a full evening. The 6 ml sees out a winter season comfortably. Choose the 12 ml if boozy tonka-vanilla scents are already your comfort zone; per ml it is the cheapest way to wear this every cold evening.
