Deer Musk attar is a Flora Five original — our homage to kasturi, the fabled deer musk that anchored classical Indian and Arabian perfumery, recreated here through ambrette (musk mallow), dark musk accords and a thread of Laos oud rather than anything animal-derived in spirit of the old maestros. Cardamom, rose and Madurai malli light the top; leather, labdanum and warm cinnamon smoulder in the heart; and the animalic-amber base murmurs on for roughly 6–8 hours on skin.

What does Deer Musk attar smell like?
Deep, warm and unmistakably animalic — in the vintage sense, not the barnyard one. A spiced rose-jasmine glow sits over black musk, supple leather and cinnamon, and the drydown is a dense weave of ambrette, oud, sandalwood and vanilla. It smells intimate up close and quietly commanding from a step away.

How long does it last?
Musks and resins are among the most tenacious materials in perfumery, so expect 6–8 hours on skin from a modest application. On shawls or jacket linings it often lingers into the next day.

Is it alcohol-free?
Yes. Like every Flora Five attar, this is a pure concentrated perfume oil with no alcohol in the formula, suited to weddings and daily wear. The oil base is also gentler on skin than repeated alcohol sprays.

Which size should I choose — 3, 6 or 12 ml?
Because this is a potent, close-wearing musk, a 3 ml goes remarkably far and is the wise first purchase. Move to the 6 ml when it becomes a weekly ritual; the 12 ml suits devoted musk lovers and offers the best price per ml.

How to Apply

Flora Five attars are concentrated, alcohol-free perfume oils. A little goes a long way.

Hold the roll-on to clean, dry skin on pulse points — inner wrists, behind the ears, base of the neck.
Apply one or two gentle swipes. Do not rub — let the oil settle on the skin.
A single application typically lasts about 6–8 hours on skin.
For a stronger trail, reapply lightly after a few hours.
Store upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
