Description Material

Deer Musk attar is a Flora Five original — our homage to kasturi, the fabled deer musk that anchored classical Indian and Arabian perfumery, recreated here through ambrette (musk mallow), dark musk accords and a thread of Laos oud rather than anything animal-derived in spirit of the old maestros. Cardamom, rose and Madurai malli light the top; leather, labdanum and warm cinnamon smoulder in the heart; and the animalic-amber base murmurs on for roughly 6–8 hours on skin.

Fragrance notes

Top: Natural Musk, Cardamom, Rose, Spicy Nutmeg, Fresh Bergamot, Madurai Malli
Heart: Black Musk, Leather, Labdanum, Sambac Jasmine, Cedarwood Atlas, Warm Cinnamon, Amber
Base: Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Laos Oud, Australia Sandalwood, Orris, Vanilla, Tonka Bean

Top	Heart	Base	Longevity	Sillage	Best for
Musk, cardamom, rose	Black musk, leather, cinnamon	Ambrette, oud, sandalwood	6–8 hrs	Strong (3–4 hrs)	Evenings, special occasions

No alcohol touches this blend, so it suits daytime as well as evenings out. Warm a single pass over wrists, neck and behind the ears — musks are skin-loving notes that bloom with body heat over hours. Let it sink in fully before dressing, and keep it clear of white garments.

Available as a roll-on in 3 ml, 6 ml and 12 ml. Free shipping on orders from ₹499 · Cash on Delivery available (₹50 COD fee) · 7-day exchange or store credit.

Frequently asked questions

What does Deer Musk attar smell like?
Deep, warm and unmistakably animalic — in the vintage sense, not the barnyard one. A spiced rose-jasmine glow sits over black musk, supple leather and cinnamon, and the drydown is a dense weave of ambrette, oud, sandalwood and vanilla. It smells intimate up close and quietly commanding from a step away.

How long does it last?
Musks and resins are among the most tenacious materials in perfumery, so expect 6–8 hours on skin from a modest application. On shawls or jacket linings it often lingers into the next day.

Is it alcohol-free?
Yes. Like every Flora Five attar, this is a pure concentrated perfume oil with no alcohol in the formula, suited to weddings and daily wear. The oil base is also gentler on skin than repeated alcohol sprays.

Which size should I choose — 3, 6 or 12 ml?
Because this is a potent, close-wearing musk, a 3 ml goes remarkably far and is the wise first purchase. Move to the 6 ml when it becomes a weekly ritual; the 12 ml suits devoted musk lovers and offers the best price per ml.

How to Apply

Flora Five attars are concentrated, alcohol-free perfume oils. A little goes a long way.

Hold the roll-on to clean, dry skin on pulse points — inner wrists, behind the ears, base of the neck.
Apply one or two gentle swipes. Do not rub — let the oil settle on the skin.
A single application typically lasts about 6–8 hours on skin.
For a stronger trail, reapply lightly after a few hours.
Store upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Inspired-By Disclaimer

Every Flora Five attar is an independent composition, hand-blended in small batches in Sirhind, Punjab. Where a fragrance is labelled inspired by a globally recognised perfume, Flora Five has no affiliation with the original house, is not sponsored or endorsed by it, and does not claim to replicate its formula. We interpret the silhouette of a fragrance in alcohol-free oil form; we do not copy the formula.

FAQ

Questions about Deer Musk Attar

How much does Deer Musk Attar cost?

Deer Musk Attar costs ₹399 for 3 ml, ₹699 for 6 ml and ₹1,299 for 12 ml; it is sold out right now. Orders from ₹499 ship free within India.

Is Deer Musk Attar for men or women?

Deer Musk Attar is unisex. Its musky and amber character suits men and women equally well.

When is the best time to wear Deer Musk Attar?

Deer Musk Attar is at its best in autumn and winter, when the air is cool. It suits times you want to be noticed, quiet moments and evenings out. It is a strong scent, so one swipe is usually enough, especially indoors.

How is an attar like Deer Musk Attar different from a spray perfume?

An attar is a concentrated perfume oil with no alcohol, rolled straight onto the skin. A spray perfume is fragrance mixed with alcohol: it projects loudly at first, while an attar stays closer to the skin and lasts about 6–8 hours.

How do I apply Deer Musk Attar?

Roll it onto pulse points (wrists, the sides of the neck, behind the ears) and let it settle rather than rubbing it in. One swipe on each point is plenty. Keep the roller off white or delicate fabric, as oils can mark.
