Black Oud is a Flora Five original: an alcohol-free oud (oudh) oil built around a deep rose-on-oud character. Saffron and black pepper strike first over bright bergamot, a dark rose and labdanum heart follows, and agarwood with musk, amber, sandalwood and leather holds the base for roughly 6–8 hours on skin.

Why an oil. Saffron-dusted dark rose sits over a genuinely deep agarwood-leather base. Because it is a concentrated oil rather than a spray, there is no alcohol blast up top; the scent builds gradually, hugs the skin more intimately, and its base notes persist well past where a spray would fade.

Black Oud is alcohol-free, which makes it easy to wear through long days. Roll it across your wrists and the sides of your neck and let body heat coax the rose out of the oud — give it ten minutes before judging. Keep it clear of white shirts and pale dupattas; dense oud oils can leave a shadow.

What does Flora Five's Black Oud smell like?
It opens spicy and slightly medicinal — saffron, black pepper and bergamot over dry spices — then turns dark and romantic as the rose, labdanum and patchouli heart appears. The drydown is the point: dense agarwood, leather and amber with a musky-sandalwood smoothness. Think a dim room, dark wood and one deep red rose.

How long does it last?
This is one of the longest-wearing oils in our line: roughly 6–8 hours on skin, with the oud-amber base often greeting you on clothing the next morning. Two modest swipes are enough; it projects strongly for the first three to four hours and then wears as a rich skin scent.

Is this a good first oud?
Yes — with a caveat. The rose and amber round off oud's raw, animalic edge, so it is friendlier than a straight agarwood oil while still being unmistakably an oud. Start with a single swipe on one wrist; if you enjoy the drydown after an hour, you will enjoy the bottle.

How to Apply

Flora Five attars are concentrated, alcohol-free perfume oils. A little goes a long way.

Hold the roll-on to clean, dry skin on pulse points — inner wrists, behind the ears, base of the neck.
Apply one or two gentle swipes. Do not rub — let the oil settle on the skin.
A single application typically lasts about 6–8 hours on skin.
For a stronger trail, reapply lightly after a few hours.
Store upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Can I exchange or return my order?
