Badee Al Oudh Attar — A Flora Five Tribute to the Smoky Rose of Arabia
Some fragrances whisper. This one is carved in incense smoke. Flora Five's Badee Al Oudh inspired attar oil is our alcohol-free homage to Lattafa's Middle-Eastern cult favourite — a dense, velvety stack of saffron-dusted rose, aged oud wood, and glowing amber resin. This is the scent of a candlelit majlis, of incense curling out of a carved mubkhara, of a wool shawl worn well past midnight. Mysterious, masculine-leaning, unapologetically rich.
Crafted in the traditional ittar method on a base of pure fractionated coconut oil, this attar delivers the Badee Al Oudh signature the way Gulf perfumers intended oud to be worn — as a skin-scent oil, slow and devastating, not a blast of alcohol vapour. Every dab blooms deeper as the hours pass.
What You'll Smell
Badee Al Oudh opens with a bright, almost medicinal shimmer of saffron — that bitter-metallic-honeyed thread that announces every great Arabian composition. A flash of bergamot and cool violet leaf sharpens the opening so it doesn't collapse into syrup. The heart turns rich and church-like: a full-bodied Taifi rose soaked in frankincense and smoky papyrus (cypriol), with a whisper of jasmine keeping the rose from sulking. The base is where Flora Five's oil format earns its reputation — a long, hypnotic drawdown of aged oud wood, warm amber resin, creamy sandalwood, and a pillowy curl of white musk. It reads dignified, nocturnal, and quietly commanding.
This is a fragrance for people who understand that oud isn't loud — it's inevitable.
About the Inspiration
Lattafa's Badee Al Oudh earned its reputation as one of the most wearable modern oud compositions on the market — a reference point for anyone who wanted the Arabian oud-rose-amber signature without the stratospheric price tag of a niche house. Our attar interpretation takes that same smoky-rose-oud DNA and rebuilds it in pure oil concentration, so the scent sits closer to the skin, lasts far longer, and honours the original ittar tradition the Badee Al Oudh formula was modelled on.
Why Attar Oil Format?
-
Longevity: Pure oil format means the smoky rose and oud cling to skin for 10–14 hours without the top-note alcohol flash-off.
-
Skin-safe: Alcohol-free, so no dryness, no sting, safe on freshly-shaved skin, beard area, and sensitive skin.
-
Halal & vegetarian: Composed on fractionated coconut oil with ethically sourced aroma materials — no animal-derived musk.
-
Travel-friendly: Roll-on bottles are TSA/airline-compliant and won't leak in a carry-on.
-
Projection on your terms: A single dab reads intimate and noble; two or three strokes and the oud-and-rose trail follows you across a banquet hall.

How to Wear
Roll a small amount onto clean, unperfumed skin at your pulse points — inner wrists, the side of the neck, behind the ears, and the chest / collarbone area. Don't rub; let the oil absorb on its own so the saffron and rose breathe without flattening the oud. For a fuller trail, dab a little into the edge of a cotton kurta, a beard, or a wool scarf; the oud-and-amber base will anchor itself and project softly for hours. A little goes a long way — start with less than you think you need.
